Harmonium I-VI
As the title suggests, this album uses a harmonium—roughly 100 years old—as the only sound source.
The air is moved manually, the pressure controlled with the feet, which directly influences the sound. The keys respond to the slightest change in touch. This combination allows for a wide range of subtle variations and opens the possibility to work within the microstructures of sound and texture. The harmonium behaves almost like an early synthesizer—oscillating, breathing, vibrating.
The six pieces form a coherent body, while each unfolds its own atmosphere. They are quiet, slow, and expansive. Despite playful and experimental elements, the focus remains on reduction and precision. The sounds unfold gradually, surround us, draw us in, and lead into different directions and spaces.
