A note from Elias and Chris

Opalescentia is Ogive’s second collaborative release, merging our contrasting design methodologies. While our individual aesthetics may appear antithetical – one highly organized, the other evolving organically: driven intuitively by its inner logic – these perspectives converge and mesh to create virtual weather systems and volatile sonic microstructures that exude unpredictability.

We both instinctively recognized the emerging physicality of this album, whilst retaining the subtlety of gestural sound events. This work implicitly acknowledges a gradual evolution, much like slow cooking, with both of us shifting the creative axis to unsettle, perplex, or dazzle each other over an extended process of creative tension.

This multifaceted work conjures fictional landscapes: resonating with echoes of forgotten futures, like distant memories beneath the surface, unveiling hidden dimensions and layers through repeated exposure.
